Who we are
Kenya Veterinary Union is a registered trade union under the Labour Relations Act, 2007. We represent veterinary surgeons and veterinary paraprofessionals in county governments, national institutions, parastatals and private practice.
Every official who negotiates on your behalf has held a posting like yours. Branch stewards are elected by the members they serve, the national executive is elected at the delegates' conference, and the accounts are audited and tabled to members every year.

Eleven months of hardship allowance was simply missing from my pay. I had written three letters and got nothing. The branch filed it as a group claim with four other officers and payroll cleared all of it in one cycle.
I was suspended over a treatment decision made in the field with no drugs in store. My steward came with the requisition records. The panel dropped it, and the county now stocks that station monthly.
I had been acting in a post for four years with no confirmation and no grade to match. The union produced the scheme of service in the meeting. I was confirmed and backdated to the date I started acting.
How to join
Registered veterinary surgeons and veterinary paraprofessionals are all eligible — public, parastatal or private.
Fill it in below or at your branch. All you need to hand is your KVB registration number.
Dues come off payroll automatically. Your card and your steward's number reach you within 14 days.
Registration & dues
Registration is a one-off KSh 1,000, paid to Paybill 618352 with your own name as the account. Your registration number is texted to you the moment it clears. Dues are KSh 670 a month after that.
Paying by bank instead?
Use your own name as the reference for registration, or your membership number for monthly dues. Send the deposit slip to your branch secretary or on WhatsApp.
